Welcome to UniPrep!

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the UniPrep mobile application and website (uniprep.ng) operated by UniPrep Technologies ("we", "us", or "our").

By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. About UniPrep

UniPrep is an AI-powered study companion designed to help Nigerian university students prepare better for exams through course materials, past questions, AI tools, and personalized study features.

2. User Accounts

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration.
• You may not share your account with others or use another person's account.

3. User Content

• You may upload notes, photos, PDFs, and other study materials ("User Content").
• By uploading User Content, you grant UniPrep a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, store, reproduce, modify, and display such content solely for the purpose of providing our services (e.g., AI summarization, flashcard generation, etc.).
• You retain ownership of your content. However, you are solely responsible for the content you upload and must ensure it does not violate any laws or third-party rights.

4. AI Services

• Our AI features (AI Tutor, AI Quiz Generator, AI Note Summarizer, etc.) are powered by third-party services including Google Gemini.
• AI-generated content is provided for educational assistance only and should not be considered as professional academic advice.
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or originality of AI-generated responses.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

• Some features are available only to Pro subscribers.
• Payments are processed securely via Paystack.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled.
• You can cancel your subscription at any time through the app or by contacting support.
• No refunds will be issued for partially used subscription periods except as required by law.

6. Refund Policy

We strive to provide the best possible experience, but all purchases are final and non-refundable except in the following cases:

• Technical Issues: If you experience a technical failure that prevents you from accessing paid features for more than 48 hours after purchase, and you report it within 7 days, we may offer a refund or extension at our discretion.
• Accidental Purchase: Refunds for accidental duplicate purchases may be considered if requested within 24 hours of payment.
• New Subscriptions: First-time Pro subscribers may request a refund within 3 days (72 hours) of purchase if they have not used the service significantly (less than 30 minutes of usage).

All refund requests must be sent to privacy@uniprep.ng. We do not offer refunds for partial use of the subscription, change of mind, or after the 3-day window.

Note: Refunds, when approved, will be processed back to the original payment method within 7–14 business days.

7. Intellectual Property

• All content, design, logos, features, and code on UniPrep are the intellectual property of UniPrep Technologies and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.
• You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service without our prior written permission.

8. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Upload content that is offensive, infringing, or harmful
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
• Share or sell access to your account
• Use AI features to generate content for examination malpractice
• Interfere with the proper working of the Service

9. Termination

• We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause, if you violate these Terms.
• You may delete your account at any time through the app settings.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

• That the Service will always be available or error-free
• The accuracy of AI-generated content
• Specific exam results or grade improvements

11. Limitation of Liability

• To the fullest extent permitted by law, UniPrep Technologies shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to us (if any) in the twelve months preceding the claim.

12. Governing Law

• These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
• Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in Ilorin, Kwara State.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the effective date. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
